What a clever interactive book! It simply begs to be read aloud. This would be a LOT of fun to use in a library storytime. I love that the hungry bunny is interacting with the reader and asking for help to get some apples from the tree. The use of the ribbon as a scarf and the ways it is used several times throughout the story is VERY creative! Highly recommended! The bunny's dedication is also very fun: "Bunny would like to dedicate this book to you, for all your help with the harvest. Jul 31, Dylan Teut rated it really liked it.

It takes a lot to make an interactive book stand out these days since more and more are being published, but the addition of a ribbon like you see in hymnals and using that as a scarf really makes this one a winner. The story is interactive, allowing readers to use a red ribbon that represents Bunny's scarf to climb up a tree, head up and down a hill, blow away some leaves, and even push him through a hole deep into his burrow.

I love the last line of invitation: "We saved a piece for you" unpaged. The illustrations, created in charcoal and digitally, will catch readers' eyes and keep them moving through the text as will the fact that they are being asked to participate in Bunny's travels.

Although the red ribbon didn't charm me the way it will its intended audience, this book still has much to recommend it as Bunny works hard to gather those apples and readers try to help him pick them up.

Of course, there is a red ribbon attached to the book to make this and other Bunny requests easier. This is a fun book and kids will definitely have fun helping Bunny out of all his dilemmas. The story made us all laugh and each one of my kids had to take turns assisting Bunny. Rueda's simple charcoal and digital illustrations are fun and friendly, with touches of red in the apples, Bunny's scarf, and his wagon. We read this book a lot and the red ribbon adds much to the fun.

Eventually it can come loose but I just reglued it and that worked. We still read it on a regular basis, along with Bunny Slopes. This was a very cute picture book, even if it is a bit longer than conventional picture books. The length is understandable, as the text is scattered through the pages and there are multiple full-spread illustrations.

This book is great for one-on-one sharing, but you could probably also use it for storytime if you can get creative! Maybe give out scarves and have readers use those to follow along with the actions as you read the book?
